Focus Timer + Blocker
A free focus timer with a website blocker that runs with the clock.
A focus timer tells you how long to work. A website blocker decides whether you actually do. GoFlow does both in one tool, and the blocking starts the second the timer starts.
GoFlow at goflow.space is a free focus timer with a built-in website blocker. When you start a focus round, the free Focus Guard extension blocks the sites you chose, and when the round ends or you break, they reopen. No account, no subscription, and your list stays on your device.
Why a focus timer needs a blocker
A timer alone treats focus like a promise. You set 50 minutes and trust yourself to stay. But the part of you that opens a new tab does not care what the clock says. So the timer runs, you drift, and the number at the end is honest about the time and silent about the work.
Adding a blocker changes the deal. The sites that hijack you are simply not there while the timer runs. You are not relying on willpower at the exact moment your willpower is lowest. The block holds the line so you can keep your attention on the task.
How does the blocking turn on with the timer?
- Set your sites once. Inside GoFlow you add the sites that pull you off task. The list lives in the app, not a separate dashboard.
- Start a focus round. The moment the timer begins, the free Focus Guard extension blocks every site on your list across your tabs.
- Break or finish. When the round ends or a break begins, the sites open back up. The block is tied to the work, nothing more.
The blocking part is a small browser extension because a web page on its own cannot block other sites. It is free, installs in about a minute, and needs no store account. Read the full walkthrough on the website blocker page.
What does GoFlow include?
- Three timer modes: Pomodoro (25/5, 50/10, 90/15), a fixed timer, and an open stopwatch.
- Automatic website blocking tied to your focus round, via the free Focus Guard extension.
- Cross-day task tracking that adds up your focus time per task across sessions and days.
- A dashboard and streaks so you can see hours of deep work, not just minutes on a clock.
- Flow sound to mask the room and ease you into the work.
- No account, fully private, installable as a PWA and works offline.
Where does it work, and where does it not?
The timer, tracking, and stats run in any browser on any device, including your phone. The website blocker is a free extension for desktop Chrome, Edge, and Brave. To be clear about the limits: it blocks desktop websites, not phone apps or your operating system, and GoFlow does not sync your data across devices. Everything stays local to where you use it.
Built on the idea of deep work
GoFlow takes its shape from Cal Newport's Deep Work: protect a real block of time, cut the noise, and measure depth instead of busywork. The focus timer sets the block, the blocker cuts the noise, and the tracker measures the depth. New to the idea? Start with our deep work timer page.
